When trading land, it is mandatory to measure its area. Square feet or square meters is the universal unit of land measurement However, the method or unit of measuring land area may vary from place to place. In Nepal, land area is usually measured in one standard unit in the Terai and another in the hills.
In the Terai, the land is measured in Kunuwa, Dhur, Kattha, and Bigha respectively. Similarly, in the hilly areas, price, money, anna, and ropani have been used as basic units for measuring land.
By converting these units to universally accepted units (square feet or square meters) based on the table below, it is possible to understand how much or how much the area of land or plot is measured.
